‘Start children in the way they should go and even when they are old, they will not depart from it’ Proverbs 22:6

Absence/Lateness Procedures

Absences are only authorised for:

Sickness- Please phone the office (01634 717120) on every day of absence to keep us informed. If you are unsure about whether to keep your child at home or for how long, please ring the office for some advice (remember though- we are not doctors!).

Medical and Dental appointments- Where possible, please try to make these out of the school day. If appointments are needed in school time, please email a copy of the appointment letter or card to the office (office@st-nicholas.medway.sch.uk).

If you are running late, please contact us and let us know as soon as safely possible.

Attendance and punctuality

Learning begins the moment children enter school.  Therefore it is essential that children attend school on time.  Late arrival can set your child up for a difficult start to their day.  The information below shows the impact of being late or absent.  It adds up to an alarming figure.
