Our local authority, Medway Council manages our admissions process. Applications and appeals need to be made direct to Medway council. Please click on this link for further information about this:
Application forms or on line applications are usually available from the end of September for entry for the following September eg if your child is due to start school next September, forms will be available from previous September/October. Applications have to be submitted by January and you will be informed by the council if your application has been successful usually by the end of March.
If you are a regular church attender you may want to complete a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) to indicate that you are choosing us because you wish your child to attend a church school; the SIF’s are available from the school office. The SIF has to be signed by the vicar or priest at your church to confirm your regular attendance. The SIF will only be used if we are over- subscribed. In the event of over subscription we follow Medway requirements and the details of this are in our prospectus.
You can register your interest in a place at our school even if your child is still very young. We will take your contact details and then contact you when it is time for you to apply for a place so that we can arrange a visit for you and help with the application process.
Do please look at our Prospectus and Guide which has lots of useful information about school times, breakfast club and after school care as well as information about uniform, the curriculum and teachers.
If you have not been successful in securing a place at St Nicholas CEVC Primary School and would like to appeal the decision, please see below for the admissions appeal timetable.
Deadline for lodging appeals by: Wednesday 14th May 2025
Reallocation begins: Monday 9th June 2025
Reallocation ends: Wednesday 31st December 2025
In-year admission
An in-year admission is either a new applicant who is moving to Medway or an existing resident attending a Medway school who wishes to transfer to a different Medway school. Entry is to year groups R-11 during the academic year and outside of the co-ordinated admissions process.
Under the provisions of the School Admissions Code (September 2021), paragraph 2.23 there is no requirement for local authorities to co-ordinate in-year admissions.
If a parent/carer wishes to apply for a Medway school as an in-year admission they should apply directly to the relevant school. Please ring our school office on 01634 717120 to discuss this, request an In-Year Application Form (IYAF) and arranged a visit.
Details of the in-year admissions processes for Medway schools and academies is published on the Medway Council website (www.medway.gov.uk/inyearadmissions) for each academic year by 31 August.
Places for in-year admissions must be offered in accordance with the published oversubscription criteria for the relevant school.
Parents/carers will be advised of their right of appeal if a school named on the application cannot offer a place.
